Flint doesn’t charge any transaction or account fees.

That’s right – we don’t charge you for joining!

Each fund will have fees associated with it, although these are charged within the fund rather than directly to you. Before you decide to invest in a fund you'll want to check the relevant product disclosure statement and understand what fees are associated with the fund.

Yes, there is a minimum of $50 per purchase.

You’ll need to create an account.

Opening an account is quick, easy and 100% online.

Simply enter your email and choose your password. Creating your account will include confirming your identity, providing basic details about your employment, annual earnings and investment goals. This usually only takes 5-6 minutes to complete. You'll also need your IRD number, access to a camera, either on a laptop or mobile phone (we recommend using your mobile phone) and your NZ driver’s licence or NZ passport. You will also need to be a NZ resident and tax resident.

Your account number is your FW (Flint Wealth) number. It is FW followed by 5 digits, for example FW12345. You will find this under Top Up tab.

Currently Flint does not offer accounts for children.

Flint has no subscription fees or transaction fees. Each fund has a management fee that is charged by the fund manager and Flint receives a portion of this fee. As Flint receives a portion of the fund manager's fee it doesn't cost you any extra to invest in a fund with Flint!

Your tax is calculated and paid by the fund manager using your prescribed investor rate (PIR).

At the end of the financial year, you will receive a tax report that details the tax you've paid.

If your PIR is correct, you won't need to do a thing.

If the PIR is incorrect, you'll want to update this with Flint as soon as possible.

You can find more details on what this means for you on the IRD website. If you’re unsure what PIR rate applies to you, you can find your PIR here.

Updating your PIR rate is quick and easy. Head to 'Personal Details' in the main menu, then ‘Investor profile’. You can now select your PIR from the drop-down and hit save. Not sure what rate you should be on? Find your PIR.
